Sergey Arsen'evich Vinogradov (1869-1938) belongs to a generation of artists whose work is inextricably linked with the traditions of landscape painting laid down by I. Nature as a source of all human feelings and moods with the brush of the Union of Russian Artists painters was imprinted with a lyrical, informative, filled with reverent admiring and experiences . The theme of life in harmony and complete merger with Russian land will become central to the work of Vinogradov. A master of solar subjects, he almost always chose special major in sounding state of nature.

"Spring" the artist conquers with the sincerity of experiencing joy from the onset of the first warm days. The "picture" of the everyday motive is achieved thanks to this excitement of mood from the beauty of an unpretentious corner of the village seen in nature. The plein air painting, which is the basis of the canvas, conveys the friability of the remaining snow, the density of colorful grass, by the brightness of color and the free texture of the brushstroke. Sun glare on the house and blue shadows on the earth create an unusually vital effect. The juicy green needles and the fragile outline of the young tree branches seemed to have freshened up, freeing themselves from the frosty winter. Inhaling the first jets of spring air, nature rejoices in anticipation of its renewal.
